Summary:

Through this Request for Proposals, the Regional District of Central Okanagan invites Proposals from experienced recreational playground design-builders to perform the design, supply, installation, and associated construction works to replace playground and playground surfacing at both:

• Mission Creek Regional Park Playground, 2363 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, and
• Scotty Creek Community Park Playground, 3651 Parkdale Road, Kelowna, BC.

The approach of this project is that the successful Respondent from this RFP will perform both Design Services and Work (supply of equipment/materials, installation, and associated construction works) under the CCDC14 Design-Build contract.  The Design Services will be based on the successful Respondent’s Proposal to this RFP process.  The design process will include a public consultation phase for each playground that is facilitated by Regional District staff.

The Design Services and Work for both playgrounds will be awarded together as one contract, and the projects will not be split between Respondents.

Timeline: both playgrounds and surfacing must be installed and ready to use (Total Completion) no later than September 30, 2024.  

Budget: The Regional District has the following maximum budgets available for all Design-Build services and work detailed herein:

• Mission Creek Regional Park Playground and surfacing: maximum budget of $130,000 excluding GST.
• Scotty Creek Community Park Playground and surfacing: maximum budget of $77,250 excluding GST.

The Regional District seeks proposals which offer the best overall value for taxpayers and therefore Respondents are encouraged to include in their Pricing Proposal; any price discounts which would apply if supply of materials/equipment is covered under either a Province of British Columbia Corporate Supply Agreement or Canoe Procurement Group of Canada program (of which the RDCO is a member).
