SUMMARY: A portion of the Regional District’s Mission Creek Greenway Regional Park is at risk of failure due to ongoing creek bank erosion. The site is located along the right-bank of Mission Creek, immediately upstream of the Scenic Canyon Regional Park "Hollywood Road" parking lot and trailhead at 2080 Hollywood Road South, Kelowna, BC. The toe of the slope has experienced significant scour as a result of recent high flow events in Mission Creek. Streambank protection measures are required to stabilize the bank and prevent further erosion that could jeopardize the structural integrity of the slope and the adjacent trail. This RFP is issued to select a Contractor to perform that work. All works must be conducted in compliance with applicable environmental regulations, the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), and recognized Best Management Practices (BMPs) for works in and around water. Full details of the Work required is provided in Part A of this RFP, including the referenced Contract Drawings. Place of the Work: the work is located along the Mission Creek Greenway at the Hollywood Road South Parking Area and Trailhead (2080 Hollywood Road South, Kelowna, BC). Access to the site, is via a non-public access located at 3945 East Kelowna Road. Access to the site is through a private property on the opposite side of the creek. Care will need to be taken to ensure no damage is caused to the private property, any disturbance due to construction and use of access will be required to be remediated. Coordination of access with the property owner will be required. Minor access trail (route) rehabilitation works will be required upon project completion, as described in the scope of Work.
